Cleaner Streets
Why Prop B?
Government Efficiency
Proposition B will SAVE millions of dollars each year by preventing wasteful spending needed to establish a new City agency. Proposition B will STREAMLINE City services instead of creating unnecessary and duplicative bureaucracy which adds backlog and delays in service times.
Oversight and Accountability
Proposition B will provide the critical commission oversight needed to root out corruption and increase transparency. Through contract approvals and general oversight, the Public Works Commission will provide critical guard rails against corruption and misconduct. The Sanitation and Streets Commission will set policy on street cleaning operations and conduct data-driven performance evaluations for the Department of Public Works. Besides providing an unprecedented level of transparency and scrutiny to a major City department, these commissions collectively also function as a public forum where the community can bring their concerns about anything from street cleaning to street construction projects sponsored by the City.
Cleaner Streets
The money saved can go directly to the essential workers who clean and maintain our streets clean. The Public Works and Sanitation and Streets Commissions consist of champions to ensure that the Department of Public Works is laser-focused on clean streets and has the necessary resources to get the job done efficiently and cost-effectively.

The Daily Buzz
A clean sweep for cleaner streets! Oversight Done Right is proud to have endorsements from every major newspaper including the SF Chronicle, the Examiner, SF Bay Guardian, Sing Tao, and the Bay Area Reporter. As the SF Examiner writes: “SPUR, an urbanist think tank, argued in 2020 that it makes little sense to arbitrarily separate the people responsible for designing our buildings and infrastructure from those tasked with maintaining them. We agree.”
